Tour overview:
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat
Upon arrival at Casablanca Med V Airport, you will be greeted by your private English-speaking driver. They will provide you with a brief summary of your New Year’s tour. Your first stop will be Casablanca, the bustling commercial capital and largest city in Morocco.
Immerse yourself in the city’s stunning architecture, visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, and enjoy the beautiful gardens and terraces overlooking the Atlantic coast. After exploring Casablanca, you’ll head to the capital city, Rabat, where you’ll spend the night in a hotel or riad, including dinner.
Day 2: Rabat » Chefchaouen
Second day of the 10-Day Desert Tour from Casablanca: We will embark on a scenic journey to Chefchaouen as part of our grand tour of Morocco. Along the way, we will make several short stops to admire the beautiful surroundings. Upon arriving at our destination, the blue city of Chefchaouen, we will be immersed in its unique charm.
You will have the opportunity to explore the captivating blue painted alleys and enjoy the atmosphere of this charming place. For our overnight stay, we will be accommodated in an authentic riad located in the heart of the Medina, guaranteeing an authentic experience.
Day 3: Chefchaouen » Volubilis » Meknes » Fez
On today’s leg of our 10-Day desert tour from Casablanca, we head from Chefchaouen to Meknes, where we will embark on a guided tour of this historic city. Before arriving in Meknes, we will stop at the impressive Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the best-preserved Roman ruins in the region. Immerse yourself in the ancient world as our certified local guide shares insights into Roman life and architecture.
Upon arriving in Meknes, we will begin our guided tour at the impressive Bab Mansour, an ornate gate that serves as the entrance to the imperial city. Explore the city’s highlights, including the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the entrance to the Royal Palace, and the grandiose Heri Es Souani, which was once a stable and granary for thousands of horses.
After our time in Meknes, we will continue our journey to Fez, where we will spend the night and enjoy a delicious dinner. Get ready to immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere and rich history of Fez, a city known for its cultural and spiritual significance.
Day 4: Fez Observation Tour with local guide
Explore the medina of Fez, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on a guided tour. Visit the gate of the Royal Palace, the Mellah (Jewish quarter), the artisans’ quarters and the famous tannery of Fez. Discover religious and historical sites, including the Moulay Idriss II Mausoleum and Al Karaouine University. Rest and spend the night in your riad.
Day 5: Fez » Ifrane » Cedar Forest » Midelt » Ziz Valley » Merzouga
Today we depart Fez and head towards Erfoud, passing through the picturesque Middle Atlas Mountains and the charming town of Midelt. We continue our journey through the picturesque Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves and oases. On the way, you will see traditional ksars and villages. Finally, we arrive in Erfoud, famous for its date and fossil festival, before reaching the magical Sahara Desert in Merzouga. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at a Kasbah hotel.
Day 6: Merzouga » Rissani » Merzouga » Erg Chebbi Dunes (Merzouga)
Take an unforgettable journey through the Sahara starting from Merzouga. Explore a nomadic village and pause for lunch at a Kasbah hotel located next to the mesmerizing Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Enjoy free time in the pool before the next part of your adventure.
As the sun begins to set, traverse the sands on foot or by camel, marveling at the stunning Erg Chebbi sand dunes as they transform into a stunning shade of red. With the arrival of night, immerse yourself in the captivating rhythms of music and the singing of Berber drums, savoring a delicious homemade Moroccan dinner. Experience the magic of the desert as you retire for the night in a luxurious private tent equipped with a private bathroom and hot shower. Tonight, enjoy an unforgettable camping experience in the heart of the desert, complete with a gala dinner under the stars.
Day 7: Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) » Todra Gorges » Dades Valley
Start your day with a stunning sunrise followed by a delicious breakfast. Return to Merzouga to meet your car and resume your journey towards the magnificent Todra Gorge, traveling the rugged Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.
This region has captivated filmmakers, serving as the setting for renowned films such as “The Last Temptation of Christ” and “The Jewel of the Nile.” Reach the enchanting Todra Gorge, where sparkling springs flow between towering pink and gray rock walls, offering a dazzling spectacle of natural beauty.
Embark on a short exploratory walk through the Todra Gorge, immersing yourself in the majestic surroundings. Continue your adventure through the picturesque Dades Valley, culminating in a delicious dinner and a night’s rest in a charming Kasbah hotel.
Day 8: Dades Valley » Rose Valley » Ouarzazate » Marrakech
Take a trip to the picturesque Rose Valley, Kelaa M’Gouna, famous for its exquisite roses and rose products. Cross the captivating Highway of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing by the palm tree oasis of Skoura, until you reach Ouarzazate.
Enjoy a lunch break in Ouarzazate before exploring the UNESCO-protected site of Ait Benhaddou, a notable kasbah of great historical importance. Depart from the kasbah and head towards the majestic Atlas Mountains, crossing the impressive Tizi Tichka Pass at an altitude of 2260 meters.
Take in stunning views of nearby valleys, mountains and charming Berber villages. As the sun sets, arrive in Marrakech for a delicious dinner and a comfortable night’s accommodation in a hotel or riad.
Day 9: Marrakech City Tour with Local Guide
Embark on a guided city tour of Marrakech after breakfast. Begin your exploration at the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, a magnificent landmark that has inspired architectural wonders around the world.
Next, visit the Bahia Palace and the historic Saadian Tombs, which date back to the reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur. These tombs house the burials of numerous members of the Saadi Dynasty.
After a lunch break, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Jemaa el Fna Square, known for its bustling food stalls, mesmerizing snake charmers, talented musicians and curious fortune tellers. Take a stroll through the lively souks, where you can marvel at a wide range of crafts. Spend the night in a riad and wake up to a delicious breakfast.
Day 10: Marrakech » Casablanca Airport
After breakfast, admire the panoramic view of the Dades Valley. Drive along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs”, passing through the Valley of Roses and the palm oasis of Skoura. Visit the historic Kasbah of Taourirt in Ouarzazate and explore the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tour the picturesque Tizi Ntichka mountain pass, capturing scenic photos. Arrive in Marrakech around 6 pm and transfer to your accommodation.
