Day 1: Fez – Azrou (Cedar Forest) – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga
Your 5-day tour from Fes to Marrakech begins with a convenient pickup from your riad or hotel at 8:30 am. You will embark on an exciting journey towards the Sahara Desert, specifically to the impressive sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.
As you cross the Atlas Mountains, you’ll have the opportunity to explore fascinating destinations along the way. You will visit the charming alpine town of Ifrane, known for its distinctive architecture, followed by a stop at the Azrou cedar forest, home to playful monkeys. You will enjoy a delicious lunch in the town of Midelt before continuing with your adventure.

Day 2: Exploration of the Merzouga area and Night in Hotel/Riad
Today we embark on an exploration of the captivating dunes of the Erg Chebbi desert. Our tour takes us on a circuit through the desert, where you will witness the nomadic lifestyle and experience the changing contrasts of the desert landscape.
Our first stop is the “black town” of Khamlia, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy the hypnotic rhythms of Gnawa music performed by local musicians. Afterwards, we will enjoy a traditional Berber pizza for lunch in the historic town of Rissani.
In the afternoon, an exceptional camel ride awaits us as we cross the golden dunes and contemplate the impressive sunset over the desert. We will spend the night in a desert camp, where a traditional tagine dinner will be served. Relax and enjoy the delicious flavors while sipping mint tea and immersing yourself in the enchanting melodies of traditional Berber music under the starry sky and crescent moon of the Sahara Desert.
Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges
We will wake up early in the morning to witness a stunning sunrise over the majestic sand dunes, the highest in Morocco. As the sun casts vibrant hues and captivating shadows over the sea of dunes, it will be an unforgettable sight. After contemplating this natural spectacle, we will return to our hotel in the desert for breakfast.
Our journey continues towards Tinghir, where we will discover the impressive Todra Gorge. Known for being the highest and narrowest gorge in Morocco, it offers a stunning backdrop for hiking and relaxing along the river. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of the surroundings and taste delicious local Berber delicacies.
We’ll enjoy a lovely lunch in the heart of the gorge before embarking on a panoramic drive through the picturesque Dades Valley. As the day draws to a close, we’ll settle in for the night at a charming mountaintop hotel, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. It will be a peaceful and rejuvenating retreat after a day of exploring.
Day 4: Todra Gorge – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
After enjoying a delicious breakfast at the hotel, our journey continues along the famous Route of a Thousand Kasbahs. This scenic route is adorned with numerous kasbahs, ancient fortified houses, dotting both sides of the road. While some have been restored to their former glory, others remain in ruins, showcasing the rich history of the region.
Passing through the charming Dades Valley, we will enter the mountainous terrain through an all-terrain trail. Here, we will encounter authentic Berber villages and even have the opportunity to visit a local family who resides in caves. You will witness their daily life and experience their main occupation of caring for flocks of goats and sheep.
Prepare to be mesmerized by the stunning landscapes of the vibrant Valley of Roses before reaching the captivating palm tree of Skoura. Continuing our trip, we will arrive in Ouarzazate, where we will enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night in a comfortable hotel. It will be a memorable evening, surrounded by the charm of this historic city.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
After a delicious breakfast, our first stop of the day will be the renowned Taourirt Kasbah, a historic fortress worth exploring. Next, we will head to the iconic Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its remarkable architecture and cultural significance.
Continuing our journey, we will visit the traditional Berber village of Telouet, located in the majestic High Atlas Mountains. Here, we will have the opportunity to explore the impressive Kasbah el Glaoui, a testament to the rich history and heritage of the region. A delicious lunch awaits us at a local restaurant in Telouet, giving us a taste of authentic Moroccan cuisine.
As we descend through the picturesque port of Tizi-n-Tichka, with its winding roads and stunning views, we make our way to the vibrant city of Marrakech. This marks the end of our captivating 5-day tour from Fes to Marrakech, through the enchanting Sahara of Merzouga.
