4 Days Marrakech to Fes desert tour

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Dades Valley:

Starting our 4-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes, you will be picked up promptly at the airport or your accommodation in Marrakech. We will start our drive through the beautiful High Atlas Mountains, crossing the impressive Tizi-N-Tichka Pass. Along the way, we will make stops to savor the panoramic views of the impressive landscapes.

Our next stop is the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This architectural gem has appeared on the silver screen in numerous acclaimed films such as Gladiator, Alexander the Great, The Mummy and popular television series such as Game of Thrones.

Continuing our desert tour, we head to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gate of the Desert”. Here, we will visit the Atlas Studio, where iconic films have been brought to life, and explore the historic Kasbah of Taourirt.

Our journey then takes us to the enchanting Rose Valley, famous for its annual Rose Festival held in May. Immerse yourself in the vibrant festivities as locals display their exquisite rose products, including perfumes, rose water, oils and cosmetics. Finally, we arrive at Boumalne Dades, where a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay in a hotel or riad awaits you.

Day 2: Boumalne Dades – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Sahara – overnight in a luxury camp

After breakfast, get ready to enjoy of the stunning views of the Dades Gorges.
Next, we’ll head to the Todra Gorges, where the majestic Todra River has carved a magnificent canyon through the mountains, creating towering red cliffs. 

Take advantage of your free time to enjoy a delicious lunch and explore the gorges calmly.
In the afternoon, our journey takes us to the captivating Sahara Desert in Merzouga. Here, you’ll have an amazing camel ride through the sandy dunes and see the beautiful sunset at Erg Chebbi.

We will spend the night in a luxurious desert camp, where you can enjoy the hypnotizing rhythm of Berber drums and participate in joyful dances around the bonfire under the wide starry sky. Enjoy an exquisite dinner and spend a peaceful night at the campsite, creating lasting memories of this extraordinary experience.

Day 3: Explore the Merzouga region – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga Lake – Erg Chebbi – Palm Grove

Enjoy the magic of the desert by waking up early to see a beautiful sunrise. After breakfast, we will return to our hotel by camel. Explore the charming area of Merzouga, with its diverse landscapes of sand dunes, wild lakes, mines and oases.

We will visit an old khôl (eyeliner) mine and connect with nomads in their traditional tents, enjoy Gnaoua music in the village of Khamlia and stroll through a palm grove. Marvel at flamingos in the wild lake of Merzouga. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in a hotel, reflecting on the day’s unforgettable experiences.

Day 4: Merzouga Dunes – Erfoud – Midelt – Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes

We will finish our 4-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes with a stunning desert sunrise and a relaxed breakfast in your hotel.

We will explore a fossilized marble workshop in Erfoud before continuing through the picturesque Ziz River Valley. Enjoy lunch in Midelt and encounter Barbary macaques in the cedar forest. Discover the charming city of Ifrane, often called “the Switzerland of Morocco”. Finally, we will drop you off at the Fes airport or at your accommodation.
