Tour overview:
Day 1: Casablanca – Chefchaouen
To begin our 7 Day Tour from Casablanca, we will meet you at your accommodation in Casablanca or at the airport. From there, we will embark on a journey to the charming city of Chefchaouen.
During this memorable Moroccan Sahara tour, we’ll make brief stops at Rabat highlights, such as the impressive Hassan Tower, before heading towards the captivating blue city of Chefchaouen. As the day draws to a close, you’ll have the opportunity to spend the night in an authentic riad nestled in the bustling medina, soaking up the local atmosphere.
Day 2: Free day to explore Chefchaouen
During the second day of our Imperial Cities and Sahara Desert tour, you will have a leisurely day to immerse yourself in the charming atmosphere of Chefchaouen. Take the opportunity to stroll through the picturesque blue-painted alleys, discovering the charm of this unique city. Explore highlights such as Uta el-Hammam Square, which serves as the main center of Chefchaouen. Don’t miss the Akshour Falls, the Kasbah Ethnographic Museum, the lively Utah Lhmam Square and the vibrant Al-Swaiqa Quarter. As the day draws to a close, you will retire to a traditional Riad where you will spend the night, ensuring an authentic Moroccan experience.
Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez
After a delicious breakfast at your riad, we’ll embark on a journey towards Fez, making intriguing stops along the way. Our first stop will be Ouazzane, a captivating city with its own unique charm. Continuing our route, we will reach the notable Roman site of Volubilis, a well-preserved testament to the Roman Empire dating back to 225 BC. Prepare to be captivated by the impressive mosaics dating back to the 3rd century BC, as you explore the site with an expert guide.
Next, our adventure takes us to Meknes, which was once the capital of Morocco under the reign of Sultan Moulay Ismail. You will have the opportunity to marvel at the grandeur of Bab Mansour, an impressive gate built during the reign of Sultan My Ismail. In addition, we will visit the granary and the Sahrij Souani, an innovative irrigation system.
As we continue our 7-day tour from Casablanca, we will head towards Fez, traveling by road. Our accommodation for the night will be in a luxurious riad nestled in the medina, ensuring a delightful stay in this historic city.
Day 4: Fes visit tour with a local guide
After a delicious breakfast at your riad, it’s time to immerse yourself in the charming city of Fez, often called “the Spiritual City of Morocco.” The morning is dedicated to exploring the labyrinthine alleys and captivating sites of the Medina.
Our tour begins with visits to significant cultural and historical sites, including the renowned Al Karaouine Mosque and University, considered the oldest university in the world. We will also explore the intricate Bouanania Madrasa, the fascinating Tanneries and the beautiful Najjarine fountain.
After a satisfying lunch, we will leave the Medina to discover more treasures. We will witness the grandeur of the Royal Palace gate, stroll through the historic Jewish quarter known as “the Mellah” and visit a ceramics cooperative to witness traditional craftsmanship.
In the afternoon, we will take you to one of the fortresses, offering you a mesmerizing panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fez, a spectacle worth seeing. Finally, you’ll return to your riad for a restful night, providing the perfect conclusion to your exploration of Fez.
Day 5: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga
After a satisfying breakfast, we embark on a journey south towards the captivating Merzouga desert, passing through Midelt and Errachidia. This leg of your Grand Tour of Morocco begins with a stop in the picturesque town of Ifrane, often called “the Switzerland of Morocco.” As we continue our tour through Midelt and the picturesque Ziz Valley, you will be able to enjoy stunning views of the Middle Atlas and High Atlas Mountains.
Along the way, we will pause at the renowned cedar forest, the largest in Morocco, where you can observe the fascinating Barbary macaques. The landscape gradually transforms, revealing hints of the desert as we approach the town of Er Rachidia. After enjoying a delicious lunch in Midelt, our journey unfolds along the magnificent Ziz Valley, offering panoramic views at several stops along the way.
Passing through Berber villages, we reach Erfoud and then Rissani, the historical foundation of the Alaouite dynasty, the ruling royal family of Morocco. Upon arrival in Merzouga, you will be greeted with a refreshing cup of mint tea. This is where you will embark on a camel ride to witness the stunning sunset among the towering sand dunes, an experience to treasure.
With the arrival of night, you will enjoy a delicious dinner in our desert camp, equipped with all the comforts, where you will spend the night immersed in the tranquility of the desert.
Day 6: Sahara Desert – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
After a refreshing breakfast and a revitalizing hot shower at the desert camp, your camel guide will wake you up early in the morning to witness a sunrise that could well be one of the most breathtaking moments of your life.
As the golden rays of the sun caress the dunes of Erg Chebbi, you will embark on a leisurely camel trek back to your starting point, allowing you to fully appreciate the unique beauty of the ever-changing landscape. The dunes will enchant you with their captivating colors and shapes, evolving with the changing light throughout the day. Upon reaching your destination, you will meet your driver and continue your journey towards Tinghir and the renowned Todra Gorges, a natural wonder characterized by its towering cliffs and narrow passages. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore the valley on a scenic hike, immersing yourself in the stunning surroundings.
Next, we will pass through the captivating Dades Valley, where you will be mesmerized by the sight of majestic sand castles and intriguing rock formations known as “monkey fingers.” These natural wonders add a touch of magic to an already stunning landscape. Finally, you will spend the night in a charming riad or hotel nestled in the heart of the gorge, offering a serene atmosphere and comfortable accommodation. You will be able to enjoy a delicious dinner and a night’s rest before continuing your memorable trip through Morocco.
Day 7: Dades Valley – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After a delicious breakfast, we will embark on a picturesque tour through the enchanting Dades Valley, known as “the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs”. This scenic route will present you with countless opportunities to capture some of the most impressive photographs of your entire trip.
As we continue our tour on this 7 days Tour from Casablanca to Merzouga, we will make a stop at Kalaat Mgouna, also known as “the city of roses”. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase the renowned rose water, a fragrant souvenir that will keep your textiles smelling delicious long after your adventure has ended. Our next destination is Ouarzazate, often called “the Hollywood of Africa”, where we will immerse ourselves in the lively atmosphere of this bustling center of the film industry.
For lunch, we will enjoy a delicious meal at the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, the largest and most prominent Kasbah in all of Morocco. This architectural marvel has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has served as the setting for numerous acclaimed films, including “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Gladiator” and “Game of Thrones.”
Our journey continues as we majestically cross the Tizi ‘n’ Tichka Pass, reaching an elevation of 2,260 meters as we traverse the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to stop and explore the fascinating argan oil production process in women’s cooperatives, gaining information about this valuable Moroccan product.
Finally, we will arrive at our destination, Marrakech, where you will be warmly received at your accommodation. This marks the end of our 7 days tour from Casablanca, full of unforgettable experiences and cherished memories.
